Embassy of the Netherlands: Blockchain Symposium Singapore

16 Nov 2017 : 10:30 am - 1:30 pm

FinTech beeldSingapore and the Netherlands are both very aware of the importance of the developments in the field of financial technology (FinTech). Both countries are therefore actively stimulating FinTech’s and their progresses.

The rise of the world’s largest FinTech open co-working space, various ways of education on the field of FinTech, and many innovation labs resulted in Singapore indeed becoming the most important FinTech hub in the region; thereby covering FinTech, RegTech, InsurTech, and Blockchain. From 13-17 November, the MAS will host the second edition of the Singapore Fintech Festival with over 30,000 participants from all over the world.

During the Singapore Fintech Festival the Netherlands Embassy is organizing a Blockchain Symposium hosted by Blockchainpilots.nl.

The Symposium will bring together representatives from the governments of Singapore and The Netherlands and its partners to discuss the potential of blockchain and distributed ledger technology for the public sector and society.  The summit is designed primarily for public sector representatives and their partners interested in using blockchain to improve – or create new – governmental services. During several sessions participants will be informed about blockchain projects launched by the governments of Singapore and the Netherlands as well as their views on regulation (ICO’s, cryptocurrency) , open source development, identity, smart cities, logistics and judicial system.
