MagBe and SPH Magazines announce launch of unique magazine article platform

MagbeMagBe and Singapore Press Holdings recently launched My Reading Room, a magazine article website exclusively for articles from SPH Magazines.

www.myreadingroom.online shows a wide selection of articles from the most popular SPH magazines. Amongst which well known titles like Men’s Health, Her World, Torque, CLEO, Simply Her and Home & Decor.

This unique cooperation between a well-established Singaporean company and a tech start-up with Dutch founders, provides a solution for all those magazine readers who are switching to online solutions, but can’t easily find the right content.

The website offers its users access to individual relevant articles across an enormous database of magazines, without the need to buy the whole magazine. They unlock content that is normally only available behind a paywall.

Herre Roelevink (co-founder): “We are very excited about this launch and the close cooperation with SPH Magazines. We now already have over 1500 articles available on this website and this number is growing every day.”

MagBe is a Singaporean start-up founded by the Dutchmen Herre Roelevink and Olaf Kwakman. MagBe Pte Ltd was founded in 2015 and aims to become the leading platform for Magazine Articles in Asia.

They introduce Revenue Sharing and combine the iTunes and Spotify business models to radically disrupt the print media industry.

Olaf Kwakman (co-founder): “We believe that revolutionary changes are needed to move the publication industry towards a modern and sustainable business model that offers relevant information to users and rewards quality content creation.”

MagBe currently has two live platforms:

  1. Myreadingroom.online offers exclusive access to almost all magazines from SPH Magazines. As a promotional offer, a free 6 month’s subscription is currently provided!
  2. MagBe.com.sg offers a mix of both international content from magazines like The Economist and BBC Magazines and local Singaporean content like Singapore Business Review, STORM, Heart Media, Expat Living and many more.
