SMU held Public Lecture with Ban Ki-moon, SG of the United Nation

14102809_1430232140336644_1630053362403386564_oDutchCham extended the invitation to its members for the Singapore Management University (SMU) Ho Rih Hwa Leadership in Asia Public Lecture with His Excellency Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the United Nation as the distinguished speaker. SMU held the lecture on Monday 29 August 2016 with 3,599 invited guests attending.

They included Members of Parliament, Singapore and Foreign Ambassadors, SMU Trustees, Advisory Bard members of the SMU schools, the SMU Community as well as Principals and students representing the various Junior Colleges, Polytechnics and international schools.

H.E. Ban started his speech by thanking Singapore for playing an active role supporting the agenda of the United Nations. He went on to share about what UN has done and will continue to do to address climate change and gender inequality issues. he also encouraged the youth to step up and be agents of change. Following the lecture was an engaging Q&A session, where a record number of more than 50 people asked questions on matters they were deeply concerned about.
