We like to invite you for the session: The (underwater) world of Subsea Robotics & Remote Operations organized by Fugro and Vopak together with the ADB-DutchCham. This sharing session will outline the benefits of using Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs) to reduce the risk of underwater jetty inspections by Vopak and the latest innovations from Fugro where various subsea operations are done by ROVs performing autonomous tasks and controlled from one of the onshore command centers.
Deep-dive in the world of Subsea Robotics & Remote Operations
ROVs are unmanned robots that explore the underwater world for various use cases. With the technology maturing ROVs become more accessible, leading to new benefits. Vopak has managed to take their divers out of the water, reducing their HSE impact significantly for inspection of their critical infrastructure. Edwin Ebrahimi, Innovation Leader at Vopak will highlight the benefits of their latest ROV developments.
Fugro has been using ROVs for decades. Operating some of the largest, heavy duty ROVs they are developing their Remote Operations & Autonomy strategy. Uncrewed vessels carrying ROVs that perform autonomous tasks subsea are lined up for their first commercial jobs. No people on board, completely controlled from an onshore command center has the potential to revolutionize the offshore industry. Jelmer de Winter, ROV Production Manager will share his vision on the autonomous future and use cases of this new technology.
Program
For who?
The will be a virtual small group setting and most relevant for the persons that are interested how remote control and ROVs are changing the world. We welcome people to participate from fields like operations, technology & engineering, innovation & digital transformation and general management roles in various sectors inclduing Maritime. We look forward to welcoming all our ADB-DutchCham members and non-members.
About the Speakers
Edwin Ebrahimi
