What topics do you want the Sustainable Business Committee to focus on in 2019?
If we talk about sustainability, we talk about meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. However, for everyone, ranging from individuals to organisations to countries this has a different meaning.
We want to hear from our committee members what they would like to focus on this year. What sustainability topics would you like to discuss? Which themes would you like to learn more about? What kind of event or format do you like? And how can we link this with your company and/or personal sustainability approach?
However before we dive into the brainstorm session about our 2019 agenda; Liesbeth Kanis (Managing Director Brill Asia Pte Ltd) will talk about an academic publishers’ involvement in CSR, and what they do to help to implement the SDGs within public-private partnerships.
She will share about Research4Life and the recently launched programme, ‘Global Online Access to Legal Information’ (GOALI), which focuses on access to legal research information and access to justice to further the rule of law globally. The GOALI programme is a public-private partnership between the International Labour Organization (ILO), as a UN entity, Yale and Cornel Law School Libraries, as academic partners, and academic (legal) publishers, such as Brill, as content providers.
