SPARK, a mesmerising biodegradable light installation which will play for free across four nights, is a sight to behold at the Supertree Grove’s Lawn. Over in Flower Dome, three Supertrees composed of orchids, surrounded by other very Singaporean elements, inspire patriotic pride in the return of the ever-popular Orchid Extravaganza. The annual Gardens by the Bay and MediaCorp National Day Concert brings out the theme of Ties that Bloom with top celebrity performances. And for the first time ever, the National Day Parade’s Bay Celebrations unfurls across the Marina Bay area, with Gardens by the Bay as a participating site.
These events are all part of Gardens by the Bay’s milestone celebration of Singapore’s 60th year of independence, promising something for one and all.
After captivating audiences in cities like Bilbao, London, and Melbourne, 𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊 now invites Singapore to gather under the night sky, coming together in honour of National Day.
For the first time, SPARK, Daan Roosegaarde’s internationally acclaimed installation is coming to Singapore – jointly organised with Gardens by the Bay and Hustle & Bustle Group with IMBA as the official art partner, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Singapore and DutchCham (Dutch Chamber of Commerce Singapore).
Presented at the Supertree Grove Lawn, 𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊 at Gardens by the Bay features thousands of eco-friendly light sparks that silently float through the air, responding to the natural movement of the wind. Drawing inspiration from the gentle glow of fireflies, the shifting patterns of bird flocks, and the slow drift of stars across the night sky, the installation invites moments of awe, connection, and reflection.
