We are proud to announce that Professor Jan Peter Balkenende, chairman of the Dutch Sustainable Growth Coalition and former Prime Minister of the Netherlands, will be keynote speaker at our Sustainability Symposium on Wednesday the 12th of February 2020.
Sustainability is an important focus area for many of our members and is – next to education – one of the two themes, that drives the 100 year anniversary of the Hollandse School (HSL) this year. To strengthen the ties, ADB-DutchCham and the HSL joined forces and are proud to present the Sustainability Symposium.

Program
The program will start with a keynote by Professor Jan Peter Balkenende followed by three short speeches on sustainability by ADB-DutchCham and HSL100 sponsors from different branches, providing a broad focus on the subject to inspire and challenge. ABN AMRO, Friesland Campina and KLM will present a TEDx-style presentation, followed by a Q&A that will end the formal part. The evening program will be hosted by Ms. Sann Carriere, Founder & CEO of So Now.

Keynote Speaker: Professor Jan Peter Balkenende
Professor Jan Peter Balkenende (born in 1956) was Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands from 2002 to 2010. Balkenende has been Professor of Governance, Institutions and Internationalisation at Erasmus University Rotterdam since 2010. Between 2011 and 2016 he has been a Partner at EY, focusing on corporate responsibility and international affairs and since 2016 External Senior Advisor to EY. He chairs the Dutch Sustainable Growth Coalition, a network of eight Dutch multinationals who all intend to integrate sustainability into their business models and strategies, the Major Alliance and the Noaber Foundation. Since 2017, he is a member of the Supervisory Board of ING. Recently, he became Member of the World Leadership Alliance – Club de Madrid.
Professor Balkenende’s visit to Singapore is sparked by the invitation of the HSL to be the guest of honour at the celebration of their 100 year anniversary.

Wuhan Novel Coronovirsus (2019-nCOV)
Like many of you, we have been following the news regarding the Wuhan Novel Coronovirsus (2019-nCOV). ADB-DutchCham is closely monitoring advisory from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Singapore Ministry of Health (MOH) for guidance on proper protocols and procedures.
