Every second, the equivalent of one garbage truck of textiles is landfilled or burned. Our way of doing things is reaching its limits. The current system is no longer working for businesses, people or the environment.
We take resources from the ground to make products, which we use, and, when we no longer want them, throw them away. Take – make – waste. We call this a linear economy.
The circular economy, on the other hand, is a vision and approach that gives endless possibilities to create a thriving economy. We must transform all the elements, manage resources and understand how we can re-use products and materials, within the limits of our planet.
Join EuroCham on the 8th of April when three European companies: Heineken – Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore, H&M and Lego will present their sustainability initiatives and projects in the Circular Economy. The discussion will be moderated by Dr Zhang, senior lecturer of finance at NUS Business School.
